The first Saturday of November is a day for a bike ride across the Lowcountry. This year, Saturday, November 7th will be the day for Lowvelo, the charity bike ride to benefit the MUSC Hollings Cancer Center. Chris Winn, Executive Director of Lowvelo shared the meaning of the name Lowvelo, and how this is a bicycle ride and not a race, available for individuals at all biking levels to participate. The one-day event includes 4 different rides of various lengths, as well as a spin tent for stationary bike riders at the finish, and even an “at home” option for participants. Individuals raise money to be a part of Lowvelo, with 100% of those funds going directly to the MUSC Hollings Cancer. Winn shared information on how to sign-up, the pre-ride packet pick-up events, as well as the finish line celebration at the ride’s conclusion.
