As the price of everything continues to rise, the price of education is also on the increase.  To assist families with paying for their child’s educational expenses, South Carolina offers Future Scholar, the state’s 529 College Savings Program. South Carolina State Treasurer Curtis Loftis explained that Future Scholar is a taxed advantage program that allows parents to save overtime to help pay for education expenses. The Treasurer explained how the program is available to South Carolina residents, the ways that families can start an account, and tax advantages that Future Scholar offers. Treasurer Loftis explained that the program can pay for more than just college expenses, but trade and technical schools, licensing and credentialing programs as well as K-12 expenses.
