Each year, Rotary Clubs from across the Lowcountry comes together to host the annual Charleston Charity Duck Race. Over the years, the event has raised millions of dollars for local charities. Frank Conway is a member of the Rotary Club of Daniel Island, and the host club for this year’s race, which takes place on Saturday, May 30th at Daniel Island Waterfront Park. Conway explained how the event will take place, and the additional elements that will be a part of the race. He shared how people could purchase a duck in the race and how each of the local Rotary Clubs will pick individual charities to donate a portion of the proceeds to. The race has a $10,000 top prize to the owner of the winning duck. In addition to sharing race details, Conway also talked about why he joined the rotary, what the rotary does, and how someone could join a local rotary club.
