Celebrate Black Culture During the Charleston Black Expo

The 2026 Charleston Black Expo is an event hosted by Black Expo South to highlight the very best of Black culture, food, and business. Gather with family and friends for three days of entertainment and education featuring a variety of things to do, see, and eat in celebration of the African American community in Charleston.

BIG NEWS! As part of the Charleston Black Expo all-day event, a meet-and-greet with WNBA legend Dawn Staley, head coach of the South Carolina Gamecocks women’s basketball team, will be featured. Coach Staley is set to take the stage for an Author Chat with an opportunity to take home a signed copy of her book, “Uncommon Favor: Basketball, North Philly, My Mother, and the Life Lessons I learned from All Three.” March 14th is set to be “an unforgettable day of inspiration, empowerment and connection,” and one you don’t want to miss!

  • The Charleston Black Expo
    The main event happening March 14th from 10AM to 5PM at the Charleston Area Convention Center in North Charleston. Enjoy the very best of Black culture celebration and entertainment. The Black Expo will allow guests to participate in insightful seminars, enjoy live performances featuring local and national talent, and meet celebrity icons. The Expo will also present local Black-owned business to highlight various marketing and networking opportunities, as well as allowing guests to browse new products, discover local services, and support local entrepreneurs and start-ups.

 

  • Taste of Black Charleston
    An evening to savor the best Black-owned cuisine in Charleston, happening March 13th from 7:30 to 11PM at the Charleston Visitor Center. Guests are encouraged to come hungry to experience the fullness of Black culture through food. Proceeds from this event are donated to support the Teacher Supply Closet. Taste of Black Charleston not only features food and drink but provides live entertainment and good vibes.

 

  • Charleston Black Owned Wine + Spirit Tasting
    The perfect event to kick off the Black Expo weekend, hosted at the International African American Museum on March 12th from 7 to 10PM. Charleston Black Owned Wine + Spirits is the introductory night fit for hanging out with friends or networking with Black owned wine, spirit, and beverage retailers from around the Lowcountry. This event sets the stage for a weekend full of fun, food, culture, and immersive education and entertainment opportunities.
