Born Daystar Peterson in Toronto, Canada, he lived in Miami, Atlanta and in Queens, New York as a kid before going out on his own at age 15. Staying busy during the COVID-19 lockdown, Lanez has been hosting “Quarantine Radio” on his Instagram Live, and in May, released his first independent single on his own One Umbrella label, “Temperature Rising.”
