Special Ops Events & US Foods Commits to Feeding 1,000 Lowcountry Residents

Thursday, April 9, 2020 from 11AM-until

Special Ops Events, in conjunction with their sister companies Top Shelf Catering and the Bacon Station, are teaming up with US Foods (one of the nation’s largest food distributors) to feed 1,000 people in need next Thursday, April 9th from 11am-until. This event will occur in the parking lot of the Bacon Station, located at 454 Shipping Lane in Mount Pleasant.

This initiative is designed to feed 1,000 Lowcountry residents a warm meal who have sustained a financial hardship from the COVID-19 economic impact on the Charleston community. All guests will be directed to remain in their vehicle and drive through the service bays located in the Bacon Station’s parking lot to pick up their choice of pulled pork or smoked chicken, with two sides and a roll.

Volunteers will follow the CDC and WHO guidelines, wearing PPE and remaining a safe distance from all guests and other volunteers. Guests will be allowed to pick up their meal as well as a meal for each of their family members through this drive through service who are Sheltering-in-Place service.

Robert M. Patterson, owner and operator of Special Ops Events said, “It all still seems so surreal. One day our community is thriving and the next day, we’re almost completely shut down. Thousands have already lost their jobs or have been furloughed, and some are struggling with where their next meal is going to come from. If we can provide the members of our community a great meal, a sense of community, and a fraction of hope, then that’s a good day’s work.”
